Benagluru based Aishwarya Pissay became the first Indian to win a world title in motorsports. She won the FIM World Cup in women’s class in Varpalota, Hungary, on Monday. within the event conducted by International cycling Federation Aishwarya, won the first round in city went on to win the finals in Hungary.
The excited biker spoke on the occasion of her victory, saying “It’s overwhelming. when what happened last year once I crashed in Spain… to return out and win the championship, it is a nice feeling.” ‘Honour to place India on global motorsports map’ once I suffered career-threatening injuries, it absolutely was a tough part of my life.
however I believed in myself and was resolute to get back on the bike, that I did in nearly six months. So, winning the world Cup is large for me. It’s associate absolute honour to be the first jock to bring home a world championship title and place India on the map of international motorsports,” she added.
Speaking regarding what got her started on her biking journey, she said, “I started going on weekend rides with my friends which is wherever my love for biking began. Then in 2015, i started coaching at the Apex sport Academy in Coimbatore and completed I had the skillset to urge into professional sport and biking.
I met some women during my initial training days who were able to take sport as hobby, however not as a profession. i’m glad I did not go their way.”
