A 21 years old woman doctor died once being run over by a vehicle once she fell off a two-wheeler because it slipped on a hole in Maharashtra’s Thane district, police said on Thursday.
The incident took place late weekday night once Neha Shaikh, a resident of Kudus village, who was alleged to get married next month, was on her method home from Bhiwandi city once making some purchases for her wedding, assistant police inspector Mahesh Sagde said.
While riding seat on the two-wheeler being driven by her brother, she lost her balance and fell on the road once the vehicle skidded over a hole close to Dugadh junction.
A truck passing by crushed her below its wheels, Sagde said, adding that the vehicle driver fled once the incident.
An offence has been registered against the unidentified truck driver below Indian penal code Section 304-A (causing death by negligence), he said.
