Vashi – Fire in pantograph of a Panvel-bound local train.

Heavy smoke was detected on Wed on the Harbour line at Mumbai’s Vashi railway station when associate overhead equipment tripped leading to a fireplace within the pantograph of a Panvel-bound native train.

A pantograph is an apparatus mounted on the roof of an electrical train, tram or electric bus to collect power through contact with an overhead line.

Official Twitter account of the Central Railway, however, processed that fire was caused because of a discarded bag by someone on the Panvel-bound local train.

The Central Railway in another tweet urged passengers to not throw objects on trains which can lead mishaps and a delay in services.
